Arrest Bush, Impeach Obama
The High Crime of Torture

by ROB URIE

April 19, 2013 -Confirmation by the Constitution Project nearly a decade late that the George W. Bush administration and the U.S. military and ‚intelligence’ services committed acts of torture in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere appears a Rorschach test for the ’sentiments’ of the American people. However, sentiments aside, formal indictments of culpable officials on war crimes charges and the start of impeachment proceedings against current President Barack Obama are the only relevant responses to the report. Torture is a crime under laws to which the U.S. is signatory. And with his war on Iraq George W. Bush and his administration murdered, or caused the premature deaths of, more than a million people and substantially destroyed a modern nation state…

10 years after the war, Innocent New Lives are Still Dying and Suffering In Iraq
Report of a Fact Finding Mission on congenital birth defects in Fallujah, Iraq in 2013 (Full Report )

Human Rights Now

April 19, 2013 – … After the war, particularly in the most recent few years,a deeply troubling rise in thenumbers of birth defects has been reported by doctors in Iraq, leading to suspicions that environmental contamination from the war may be having a significant negative effect on the health of local people, and in particular infants and children. In Fallujah where white phosphorous weapons and depleted uranium munitions were allegedly used in 2004, the data of Fallujah General Hospital shows that around 15% of infants of all births in Fallujah since 2003 have some congenital birth defect. In order to further investigate the situation of an increasing number of birth defects in Iraq , Human Rights Now (HRN), a Tokyo based international human rights NGO ,conducted a fact-finding mission in Fallujah, Iraq in early 2013. In addition to investigating recorded birth defects at a major hospital in Fallujah for the year of 2012, the mission also recorded birth defect incidences first hand over a one-month period in February 2013, and conducted interviews with doctors and parents of children born with birth defects in order to gaininsights into the actual situation surrounding the birth defects in Fallujah and other areas heavily affected by conflict….

April 19, 2013 – This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Iraq War. After the war, particularly in the most recent few years, a deeply troubling rise in the numbers of birth defects has been reported by doctors in Iraq, leading to suspicions that environmental contamination from the war may be having a significant negative effect on the health of local people, and in particular infants and children. For instance in Fallujah, the city heavily attacked by the US twice in 2004, the data of Fallujah General Hospital shows that around 15% of babies of all births in Fallujah since 2003 have some congenital birth defect. Human Rights Now (HRN), a Tokyo based international human rights NGO in consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council, conducted a fact-finding mission in Fallujah, Iraq in early 2013 to investigate the situation of the reported increasing number of birth defects in Iraq…

Protests continue in Iraq and continue to be ignored by western media
The Common Ills

April 19, 2013 – It’s Friday, protests continue in Iraq. .. Nouri al-Maliki gave a little speech where he called the peaceful activists lawless rebels and threatened to use force against them. Peaceful protests have been going on across Iraq, peaceful protests against Nouri, since December…..Nouri launches verbal attacks on protesters and the response spreads across Iraq and includes his speech being stopped with cries of „liar“ but AFP doesn’t think that’s news. Not even worthy of a Tweet apparently. Are you starting to get that the western media doesn’t want to tell you what’s happening in Iraq? Your first clue to that is that the protests passed the 100 day mark two weeks ago but does the media care. More people are participating than did in Egypt’s Tahrir Square. But the western media just doesn’t care. The media lied about Iraq before the illegal war started. Dexter Filkins and other filth lied about it in the early days to keep it going. Why the hell would you assume that the western media was now telling the truth about Iraq?…
