Bankers Petroleum, a company specializing in the exploration of fuels in Albania, is accused by parliament structures of a 40 million USD tax evasion.
Spartak Braho head of the parliamentary committee on order and security says that prosecution is investigating on suspicion of tax evasion.
He says that “Prosecution is investigating, because it has been discovered that there’s been tax evasion amounting to 40 million Euros”.
“Bankers Petroleum has evaded the payment of 40 million USD worth of taxes as a result of interventions in the server of the General Directorate of Taxation. This is an issue that it’s being dealt with by the prosecution and strong evidence will soon come to light”, says Spartak Braho MP, known for the publication on the media of several suspected corruption affairs relating to MPs and senior officials in Albania.
As far as the accusations raised by Mr. Braho are concerned, IBNA demanded to hear the official positioning of Bankers Petroleum.
Omer Dashi, Corporate Communications Manager at Bankers Petroleum Albania Ltd, told IBNA that the accusations addressed by Spartak Braho are untrue.
“Bankers Petroleum denies the accusations for involvement in unlawful activities such as tax evasion and declares that during the course of its activity, it always rigorously complies with the Albanian legislation in force”.
